I lead passionate UX focused design teams that create digital products. I am a creative director at a Seattle digital product development agency and am lucky enough to work with fortune 500 & 100 companies to help guide their creative and strategic product initiatives in these areas:
Creating new human-centered products and services
Lean UX practices
Cross functional collaboration
Transforming existing customer experiences
I have experience leading design efforts across these phases of digital product design:
User Centered Design Workshops
Collaborate with stakeholders and frame the business problem correctly in design workshops. Ideate solutions together. Define product MVPs.
Research & Ideate
Perform light desk research or in-depth user interviews to better understand the available competitive and comparative information. Generate a wide range of solutions.
Based on gathered information and stakeholder collaboration, choose critical features or core concepts to prototype and test.
Run in person tests with prototypes to validate ideas. Use gathered feedback to improve or correct original concept.
UX Flows and Wires
Further expand on original concept and create flows and wires for MVP.
Work very closely with devs at all points, from initial idea to build and launch.
Launch & Iterate
Launch and use data to refine UX and product definition.
Ways of working
Atomic Design Principles
I use several aspects of Atomic Design to build out and implement design language systems for digital products.
Agile Sprints & Atlassian Products
Design sprint planning is handled within the Agile Methodology and tracking of design tasks within Confluence and Jira. Backlog grooming, am I right?
Daily Team Stand Ups
Day in and day out team and client communication is critical to velocity and is part of the Scrum Ceremonies. I can’t overstate how important this is to maintaining velocity and handling complexity.
Retrospectives & Demo Days
Demo Days to show progress at the end of sprints and Retrospectives to keep the teams healthy and happy. #RetrosFTW
